Rushing waters
Holy cow, it has been an exciting week! It ha been like a raft down the rapids. Monday, I sent out draft number three of The Blade of Ages for edits from a professional editor. (It’s Dave Farland, if you were wondering!) I think there will be very little need for copy editing, but he will also be looking at plot and content, as well as marketability. It is both a terrifying and exhilarating moment to hit send on an email like that. This is over 3 1/2 years worth of work put into 460 pages (which probably needs to be trimmed down by about 80 pages). It’s also my heart and soul. I’m so excited about this young adult fantasy novel. But there’s even more
Tuesday morning, I signed the contract for my short story, “Time to Play”, which will go into the anthology, Grifty Shades of Fey. That anthology will be available around the end of the month. I hope you’ll keep an eye out for it! It’s a PG-13 reminder that the fair folk weren’t always so fair!
It will probably be a couple weeks before I get the edits back to work through, and there may be some global concerns, or just pieces here and there to fix. So what am I going to do in the meantime? The Blade of Ageswas always meant to be book one of a seven book series. (Yikes! LOL) I’m going to be working on the outline for the series!
